Adsbrook
I have come to love the Adsbrook initiative and honestly i must admit and you will agree with me that the adsbrook initiative is one with a promising future. It is no news that people find it difficult metamorphosing ad clicks into cash-on-hand in Ghana and Africa as a whole. I think with adsbrook we now have a solution to unmonetised apps and web platforms for Africa and friends of Africa. Though adbrooks would come into direct competition with Google adwords and a host of similar service providers, I can foresee a great future for AdsBrook.
AdsBrook provides an efficient and cost effective way to measure campaign success through its analytics. Track the performance of your ads in real time and streamline your budget to make the most out of your campaign. Pay for only what you consume. it also offers targeted ads across to all our content providers in order to ensure that your message reaches the right audience at the right time for maximum effect.
SMSgh (Mpower payment systems)
In as much as i would like for Paypal and brands of its kind to come into Ghana, I trust a lot in the Mpower platform i have used it a couple of times to purchase mobile phone airtime and even succesfully transact bank business. i would not say the many possibilities it places in the hands of the many who are Paypal-sad and frustrated needless to talk of the fact that many ecommerce platforms are enjoying the empowerment. Mpower is definitely one of those platforms to watch out for in 2014; I believe they can take us up to the cashless age.
MPower enhances your payment experience. Simply load money from your prefered electronic wallet or bank account to MPower to shop online, send money from your phone or PC, transfer to anyone or receive from anyone.
Leti Games
Leti games is one of those companies that puts a smile on my face. It reminds me of the old ananse stories we used to hear before we slept. Leti arts picks the old culture washes it clothes it, puts a face to it and brings it back to those who care about our past heroes. I have followed with keen interest Eyram Akorfa tawiah and his team on the giant strides they keep making with this initiative and how in their own small way they are preserving our history and culture with new age technology. Leti Arts recently launched “The true Ananse story” currently available on the android market and for Java powered phones I am sure readers would not have any doubt as to why Leti Games made it to this list.
Yougora Limited
It is very obvious why Yougora made it to this list. in 2012 they were the highest award winners (Winning App company of the year, Social App of the year, App developer of the year, ) at the maiden TopApps Awards organised by PopOut under the auspices of the Kofi Annan Institute of Technology and they went ahead to receive an international grant from the Indigo Trust to gain a wide reach for their 233LAw App which placed the entire Ghanaian constitution on the phone and has amazing features such as News articles, Facts about Ghana, Constitutional ammendments, A legal Library and most of all a Q&A section where iusers are able to channel their questions to either MP’s, Lawyers or the NCCE for redress. in 2013 yougora was one of the National Nominees for the World Summit Youth Awards which was held in Sri Lanka late that year in that same year their App 233Law was adjudged the e-governance app of the year by PopOPut and the Kofi Annan ICT center. Next year the company has promised release of three apps that would change the way we do things in Ghana and Africa.
Trokxi
I am sure the founders of Trokxi had one thing in mind “to make transportation fares in Ghana as transparent and disilusioned as possible” this they did well. unlike many apps that dont really place their Trokxi is a mobile and web-based application that provides you with estimated fares for public transportation and destinations around the world thereby allowing you adequately budget for your trip, as well as save money and time. The app also maps the major cities and their transport systems. It is now available only to Ghanaians, so it only maps cities in Ghana, but the founders plan to launch it on a global scale sooner or later.
