Is Ghana serious at all? First was the ease with which the self-styled Ghanaian-born scientist and Nobel Laureate, Fauster Atta Mensah, wormed his way into the Ghanaian public view, deceived the whole nation about his illusionary achievements and attributes, and was gullibly recognized by the Church of Pentecost during its Extra Ordinary Council Meetings at Gomoah Feteh in the Central Region worse off earned recognition from the Ghana Government on its website.

Then Joyce Dzidzor Mensah, who happened to be Ghana’s highly respected HIV/AIDS Ambassador, burst out one morning to tell the entire nation she had never tested positive for HIV but was for over 8 years only telling the nation and the whole world a lie just to satisfy her selfish interest. She received support and funding from several organizations, institutions, banks and civil society in her campaign across the country on how to prevent HIV and how persons who have tested positive can live healthily and happily with the virus.

Ghana has a problem of cancerous state institutions and the people who have been appointed and elected to man these institutions, In all the above scenarios i would not lay blame at the doorsteps of the “fraudsters” but rather the institutions that have been but in charge of the institutions who have fallen victim. How could the Ghana Aids Commission make one an ambassador when they do not have proof of his or her HIV status, how could Our national broadcaster and even our government fall prey to someone who only spoke of their Nobel Prize when there are many avenues and mediums to conduct due diligence?

We need to strengthen our state institutions we need to be more cautious, people must find it uneasy to lie to us in our faces, lets appoint people who are not too busy to read and just sign but people who are curious to read contracts and petitions before they pen them. #HopeForTomorrow#GodBlessGhana
